If you are looking to captain you own craft and have been rafting before this is the trip for you. Ducky’s are inflatable kayaks that you sit on top of like a small raft. You will paddle down river with a kayak paddle and maneuver the rapids. A kayaking guide will be with you throughout your entire trip and will help guide you through the stretch of whitewater you chose. This is a high adventure trip and previous experience is recommended and you must know how to swim.
You need to be in good physical condition and be ready for and adventure to keep control of your ducky. This is our only tour where customers are in total control of the boat. Although your guide will help in anyway he/she can you are ultimately in control of your craft.
Brown’s Canyon Half Day Ducky (you must have at least two people to reserve)
This is our most popular ducky trip. Our half day adventure will start at Buffalo Joe’s Whitewater Rafting located in downtown Buena Vista. Here our trained staff will get you all set with the gear that you need. This includes a helmet, kayaking paddle, lifejacket, wet suit, wet shoes (booties), and splash jacket, all of which is required and is included in the trip price. After a short trip to the river and a safety period, you will be ready to begin on the journey through Brown’s Canyon.
Brown’s Canyon Full Day Ducky (you must have at least two people to reserve)
Our Full Day Ducky adventure will start at Buffalo Joe’s Whitewater Rafting located in downtown Buena Vista. This includes a helmet, kayaking paddle, lifejacket, wet suit, wet shoes (booties), and splash jacket, all of which is included in the trip price. Here our trained staff will get you all set with the gear that you need. After a short trip to the river and a safety period, you will be ready to begin on the journey through Brown’s Canyon. The first part of your day will be through upper Brown’s Canyon which will give you time to get control of the kayak in slower water. After our famous steak lunch you will maneuver your inflatable ducky down the rest of Brown’s Canyon and enjoy rapids such as Zoom Flume, Raft Ripper, and Pinball.
